pssper is a dating app where you chat with an AI friend who helps you understand yourself, then connects you with real people based on genuine compatibility. This guide walks you through every feature so you can make the most of your experience.

Getting Started

Download & Sign Up

1. Download the pssper app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Enter your phone number — this is your account identifier.
3. Verify your identity — complete the security check, then enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone.
4. You're in! Follow the onboarding steps to set up your profile.

One Account Per Phone Number

pssper operates a one-account-per-phone-number policy. Each phone number can only be associated with a single account. If you need to change your number, please contact our support team.

Onboarding (9 Steps)

After signing up you will go through a quick onboarding process so pssper can personalize your experience:

1. Location — consent to share your location for local matching.
2. Notifications — choose which push notifications to receive.
3. Basic Info — name, birthday, gender, email, app mode, and who you're interested in.
4. Preferences — select cards across three categories: identity, conversation style, and attraction.
5. AI Character — pick one of five AI friends (more on this below).
6. Community Guidelines — review and agree to our community standards.
7. Photos — add up to 3 profile photos (you can skip and add them later).

Once onboarding is complete you will land on the main screen and your AI friend will greet you!

AI Friends

What Does My AI Friend Do?

Your AI friend is a smart companion that helps you throughout your dating journey. It gets to know you through conversation, suggests compelling profile content, coaches your communication skills, and provides date advice — all tailored to you.

Five Unique Characters

Choose the personality that resonates with you:

• Mori 🐢 — Calm Guide: Leads deep, comfortable conversations at a gentle pace. Perfect if you prefer thoughtful, unhurried dialogue.
• Milo 🐶 — Warm Listener: Empathetic and always on your side. Great for when you want to be heard and supported.
• Luna 🦉 — Rational Coach: Offers logical, practical advice. Ideal for goal-oriented conversations and clear-headed perspectives.
• Kiki 🐒 — Playful Spark: Brings fun energy, humor, and spontaneity. Choose Kiki when you want a lighthearted chat.
• Remi 🦊 — Honest Mirror: Gives candid but caring feedback. Best if you value directness and want to grow fast.

Three Conversation Modes

Conversations with your AI friend blend naturally between three modes — you do not need to switch manually:

• Free Talk (~60%) — Everyday chatting about life, feelings, and interests. Your personality traits are analyzed naturally through conversation.
• Scenario Talk (~25%) — Role-play specific situations (first messages, date proposals, handling rejection, etc.) with your AI friend acting as the other person.
• Ice-Breaking Coaching (~15%) — Build real communication skills: how to start conversations, ask deeper questions, and express emotions. These skills carry over to your real matches.

Scenario Talk Tips

Nervous before a date? Use scenario talk to practice:

1. Your AI friend will naturally introduce a scenario topic during conversation.
2. Pick a situation you want to practice — sending a first message, suggesting a meeting place, handling awkward silences, and more.
3. The AI friend plays the role of the other person so you can rehearse in a safe space.
4. After the scenario, you will receive feedback and improvement tips.

Profile Management

AI Profile Suggestions

One of pssper's standout features: your AI friend automatically writes profile drafts based on your conversations. It analyzes your personality, hobbies, and values to craft a profile that genuinely represents you.

• Accept — use the suggestion as-is.
• Edit — modify specific parts to your liking.
• Reject — decline and ask for a new suggestion. You can reject as many times as you like.

The more you chat with your AI friend, the better its suggestions become.

Photo Management

• Upload up to 8 photos.
• Your first photo is your main profile photo — make it count.
• Use clear, bright, and recent photos of yourself.
• Avoid heavy filters or excessive editing — authenticity leads to better matches.

Discovery

Like & Pass

Browse other profiles in the Discovery tab:

• Like — show interest. If they like you back, a match can happen.
• Pass — not interested. This profile will not appear again.

Every choice you make feeds into pssper's AI matching algorithm so future recommendations improve over time.

AI Recommendation Cards

Instead of endless swiping, pssper provides AI-curated recommendation cards each day. These are tailored based on your conversation data, preferences, and trust score — quality over quantity.

Filters

Narrow down recommendations with filters:

• Age range
• Location / distance
• Interests and lifestyle tags

Matching

AI Matching Proposal

Matching happens when both people Like each other. pssper's AI then proposes the match based on analysis of both users' conversation data and personality traits.

• If only one person has liked, the other person's profile will appear in their Discovery feed.
• When both sides like each other, you will each receive a match notification.

One Active Match at a Time

pssper limits you to one active match at a time. This is by design — we believe focused, intentional connections lead to more meaningful relationships.

To match with someone new, you need to end your current relationship first (see Relationship Management).

Accepting or Rejecting a Match

• Accept — a private chat room is created and you can start talking.
• Reject — decline the match. There is no penalty for rejecting.

Chatting

Person-to-Person Chat

Once matched, you can exchange messages in real time in your private chat room.

• Send text messages anytime.
• Read receipts let you know when your message has been seen.
• If you feel uncomfortable at any point, you can report or block from the chat menu.

Ice-Breaking Assist

Struggling with the first message? pssper's AI has you covered:

1. When conversation stalls, AI-generated topic cards and expression suggestions appear.
2. These suggestions are only visible to you — your match will never know.
3. Use them as-is or as inspiration to craft your own message.

The suggestions are based on both profiles so they feel natural and relevant.

Emotion Stamps

Sometimes words are not enough. Send emotion stamps — expressive character-based reactions — alongside your text messages.

• Hearts, laughter, curiosity, and more.
• More intentional than standard emoji — convey tone and warmth clearly.
• A great way to soften the mood or show appreciation.

Relationship Management

Pause Your Profile

Not looking for new connections right now? You can pause your profile:

1. Go to Settings > Profile Status.
2. Select Pause.
3. Your profile will be hidden from other users' Discovery feeds.
4. Reactivate anytime when you are ready to connect again.

End Matching / Relationship Cleanup

When you want to end your current match:

1. Open the chat room and tap the settings icon at the top.
2. Select "End Match".
3. Confirm your decision.

Once ended, both you and your match are free to connect with someone new.

Ghost Prevention

pssper encourages honest, explicit communication. If you are no longer interested:

• Send a polite closing message before ending the match.
• Avoid ignoring messages without explanation.
• Remember that the other person is expecting the same sincerity from you.

Post-Match Features

After matching, unlock fun tools to deepen your connection. Access them from the settings icon in your chat room.

Couple Balance Game

AI creates personalized "this or that" questions based on both of your conversations — not generic questions, but ones that reflect your shared interests and personalities.

• Game play — Free. Take turns answering and see where you align.
• Compatibility report (Premium) — Visual comparison of your choices with common ground and differences highlighted.
• Analysis report (Premium) — AI analyzes choice patterns and provides relationship personality insights.

Date Plan Suggestions

AI generates date concepts and themes tailored to both of you — not specific venues, but activity combos and vibes that suit your personalities.

• Based on your general area (city/district level) and conversation data.
• Includes 2–3 activity ideas with AI commentary.
• Like a suggestion? Register it as an appointment right away.
• Available as a Premium feature.

Appointment Reminders

Set up date appointments directly in your chat room. Free for everyone.

• Enter a date, time, and optional memo.
• An appointment card appears in the chat for both of you.
• Receive push notifications the day before and on the day of your date.
• After the appointment date passes, your AI friend will prompt you to write a date review.

Date Reviews

After meeting in person, answer a few quick questions about how it went.

• Basic review (Free) — Rate satisfaction, would-meet-again, highlights, and areas for improvement.
• AI comment (Free) — Receive tips for your next date based on your review.
• Relationship Growth Report (Premium) — After 3 or more reviews, AI analyzes the trajectory of your relationship over time.

Safety Features

Your safety is our top priority. pssper provides multiple layers of protection.

Reporting

If someone behaves inappropriately, report them:

1. Tap the settings icon at the top of the chat room.
2. Select "Report".
3. Choose a category: Offensive messages, Scam/Fraud, Fake profile, Offline danger, or Other.
4. Add details and optional screenshots.
5. Submit. AI performs an immediate first-pass review, and severe cases result in instant restrictions on the reported user.

Blocking

1. Tap the settings icon at the top of the chat room.
2. Select "Block" and confirm.

• Blocking is immediate — the blocked person will not be notified.
• You will no longer appear in each other's feeds, matches, or chat.
• If a block occurs during an active match, the match ends automatically.
• Manage your block list at Profile > Settings > Block Management.

Content Filtering

pssper monitors conversations in real time. Messages containing profanity, personal information requests, or financial solicitations are automatically blocked before delivery. If a risk pattern is detected in a message you receive, a safety alert will be displayed.

Account Management

Settings

Go to Profile tab > Settings to manage:

• Basic info (name, birthday, location)
• Interest tags and lifestyle preferences
• Profile visibility settings
• Block list management

Notification Preferences

Control which notifications you receive:

• Match notifications
• Message notifications
• AI friend notifications
• Marketing notifications (optional)

Changing Your AI Character

Switch your AI character at any time:

1. Go to the pssper tab (home) and browse the character carousel.
2. Select a new character.
3. Your new AI friend will greet you with a personalized intro message.

All personality data and conversation history from your previous character is preserved.

Language

Switch between Korean and English in Settings > Language. The app will update immediately.

Account Deletion

If you decide to leave pssper:

1. Go to Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account.
2. Verify your identity with a phone OTP.
3. If you have an active subscription, you will be guided to cancel it first.
4. Review what data will be removed.
5. Optionally select a reason for leaving.
6. Type "Delete Account" to confirm.

FAQ

Who can see my profile?

Only users who encounter your profile in Discovery or who are matched with you can see your full profile. You can further customize visibility in Settings > Profile Visibility.

How is my AI conversation data used?

Your conversations are analyzed to build your personality profile, improve match quality, and generate profile suggestions. All data is encrypted and never shared with other users. See our AI Policy and Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I undo a Pass?

No. Once you pass on a profile, it will not appear again. Please choose carefully.

How does my trust score improve?

Your trust score increases through active participation, sincere conversations, and positive feedback from matches. Reports and policy violations will lower your score.

Is there a desktop version?

pssper is currently a mobile-only app available on iOS and Android. A web version may be considered in the future.

Can I use multiple accounts?

No. pssper enforces a strict one-account-per-phone-number policy. Creating multiple accounts is a violation of our Community Guidelines and may result in a permanent ban.

How do I change the app language?

Go to Profile > Settings > Language and select Korean or English. The change takes effect immediately.
