These Terms of Service govern your use of the pssper AI-powered social matching service. By using pssper, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose
These Terms of Service ("Terms") establish the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between pssper (operated by Elyfora, hereinafter "Company") and the individuals who use the AI-powered online dating and social matching service (hereinafter "Service"). These Terms govern all aspects of your use of the Service.
2. Definitions
The following terms have the meanings set forth below when used in these Terms:
- "Service" — The pssper application and all features, functions, and content provided through it.
- "AI Friend" — An artificial intelligence chatbot that converses with Users to help build their profiles, analyze their personality traits, and recommend compatible matches.
- "Matching" — The process by which AI analyzes compatibility between two Users and suggests a potential connection.
- "Profile" — The personal information, photos, bio, interests, and other details a User registers on the Service.
- "Trust Score" — A score from 0 to 100 reflecting a User's trustworthiness, calculated from profile accuracy, community activity history, and safety indicators.
- "Chat" — Messaging between two matched Users within the Service.
- "Scenario Coaching" — Situational conversation guidance and communication skill training provided by the AI Friend.
- "Ice-Breaking Assist" — Topic and expression suggestions provided by the AI to help compose the first message after a match.
- "User" — Any individual who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- "Member" — A registered User who has completed the sign-up process.
3. Terms & Changes
Effectiveness
- These Terms take effect when you agree to them upon signing up for the Service.
- These Terms apply automatically whenever you use the Service.
Changes to the Terms
- The Company may amend these Terms when necessary.
- Changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via in-app notice, email, or push notification.
- If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
- Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
Supplemental Terms
- Certain services (paid services, AI services, etc.) may have separate supplemental terms that apply in addition to these Terms.
- Where supplemental terms conflict with these Terms, the supplemental terms prevail.
4. Membership
Eligibility
- You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Service.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.
- You must possess a Korean mobile phone number for identity verification.
Account Creation
- You create an account by providing the required information and agreeing to these Terms.
- The Company reviews the information and may approve or reject the registration.
- Your account is activated upon approval.
Rejection Reasons
The Company may reject a registration if:
- The applicant used someone else's identity or information.
- The applicant has a prior account suspension or termination for violating these Terms.
- The registration appears to be for illegal purposes.
- The Company reasonably determines the registration is inappropriate.
One Account Per Person
- Each individual may hold only one account.
- If duplicate accounts are discovered, all associated accounts may be deleted without recourse.
- Multiple accounts per household (e.g., couples, family members) are also prohibited.
5. Services
Services We Provide
- AI Friend Conversations — One-on-one conversations with an AI character for personal counseling, profile building support, and personality/values analysis.
- Matching Service — AI-powered compatibility analysis and user recommendations. Daily match limits vary by plan.
- Chat — Messaging between matched Users, with chat history storage and search.
- Scenario Coaching — Situational conversation skill training (first dates, conflict resolution, confessions, etc.) through roleplay with your AI Friend.
- Ice-Breaking Assist — Topic and expression suggestions to help you compose your first message after matching. Real-time conversation feedback is available for Premium subscribers.
- Couple Balance Game — AI generates personalized balance questions based on both Users' conversation data. Gameplay is free; match-rate reports and analysis reports are paid features.
- Date Plan Suggestions — AI suggests date concepts and themes based on both Users' personalities and conversation data. Available as a per-use purchase or included with Premium.
- Appointment Reminders — Register a date within the chat and receive push notification reminders. This feature is free.
- Date Reviews — Write a brief review after a date and receive AI-generated feedback. Basic reviews are free; relationship growth reports are a paid feature.
Note: Services (6) through (9) are only available to matched Users. AI-generated balance game questions, date plans, and review analyses are for reference only and do not constitute psychological assessments or relationship guarantees.
Service Changes & Interruptions
- The Company may modify or discontinue the Service for technical, business, or security reasons.
- Changes or discontinuations will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
- In urgent situations, notice may be provided after the fact.
Service Unavailability
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance and updates
- System failure recovery
- Security threat response
- Legal requirements or government directives
6. User Obligations
1. Accuracy of Information
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when signing up and creating your profile.
- False, exaggerated, or misleading information is prohibited.
- You must promptly update your information when changes occur.
2. Community Guidelines Compliance
- You must follow the Community Guidelines established by the Company.
- Hate speech, violence, sexual harassment, and discriminatory language are prohibited.
- You must respect the reputation, privacy, and property rights of others.
3. Privacy Protection
- You must not share, screenshot, or record another User's personal information without consent.
- You must not disclose or distribute another User's profile photos, name, contact details, or other personal data.
4. No AI Abuse
- You must not intentionally provide false information during conversations with the AI Friend.
- You must not attempt to manipulate or exploit the AI recommendation system.
- You must not use automated tools or bots to overload the AI.
5. No Illegal Activity
- You must not use the Service for illegal transactions (drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, etc.).
- Fraud, financial exploitation, and blackmail are prohibited.
- Use of the Service for prostitution or sexual exploitation is prohibited.
6. External Contact Rules
- Sharing external contact information (messaging apps, phone numbers, email, etc.) requires the other User's consent.
- Pressuring someone to share external contact information to bypass pssper's chat system is prohibited.
7. Account Security
- You are responsible for keeping your account and authentication methods (phone number) secure.
- You are liable for unauthorized or fraudulent use of your account, except in cases beyond your control.
- If you suspect unauthorized access, you must report it to the Company immediately.
7. Company Obligations
1. Service Stability
- The Company will make reasonable efforts to provide the Service reliably and without interruption.
- Except during scheduled maintenance, the Company strives to maintain 24/7 service availability.
2. Privacy Protection
- The Company protects your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
- Data is stored with encryption and access is strictly controlled.
- For details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
3. AI Ethics
- The AI Friend is designed to treat Users with respect and never produce hateful or inappropriate content.
- If the AI produces negative or harmful responses, the Company will investigate and resolve the issue upon receiving a report.
4. Customer Support
- The Company provides customer support for Service-related issues.
- Reports and inquiries can be submitted via [email protected] or through the in-app support chat.
5. Safety Monitoring
- The Company conducts content monitoring to detect dangerous activities such as suicidal ideation, violence threats, and other harmful behavior.
- When risk signals are detected, the Company may provide support resources to the User or report to the relevant authorities.
8. AI Service Terms
AI Inference Disclaimer
- Personality traits, values, and character information inferred by the AI are for reference only.
- While the AI strives for high accuracy, it does not guarantee 100% accuracy. Results may vary between individuals.
- The Company is not liable for damages resulting from inaccurate AI analysis.
Matching Disclaimer
- AI-based matching is a compatibility recommendation only. It does not guarantee the success of any relationship.
- A high compatibility score does not guarantee a successful meeting, emotional connection, or lasting relationship.
- The Company is not liable for relationship issues, emotional harm, or unmet expectations arising after a match.
AI Update Rights
- The Company may update its AI models at any time to improve performance.
- Significant updates will be announced at least one week in advance.
- Updates may alter previously generated analysis results.
Third-Party AI Technology
- pssper's AI partially utilizes third-party AI technology.
- You can opt out of third-party AI processing in Settings > AI Features.
- For more details, refer to the AI Policy.
Pro Tip
AI-generated insights — including personality analyses, match suggestions, balance game results, and date plan recommendations — are tools to help you, not definitive assessments. Always trust your own judgment.
9. Paid Services
Payment Methods
- In-App Purchase (currently available) — Payment through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Web Payment (coming soon) — Payment through the pssper web checkout page.
- The Company does not directly store or process credit card information. All payments are handled by the respective payment provider.
- Refund procedures may differ depending on the payment method. See the Billing & Subscriptions page for details.
Auto-Renewal
- Subscription plans automatically renew on the same date each month.
- For App Store purchases, auto-renewal is managed through your App Store or Play Store account settings.
- When web payment is available, you will also be able to manage auto-renewal in the app under Settings > Subscription Management.
Refund Policy
- App Store purchases — Refunds follow each store's default policy (Apple: within 14 days; Google: within 48 hours). Refund approval is determined by Apple or Google.
- Web purchases (when available) — Full refund within 7 days of subscription start if the Service was not used. Prorated partial refunds are available thereafter.
- Token packs — Refundable within 7 days of purchase if less than 5 minutes of usage was consumed.
Pricing
- For detailed plan information, pricing, and advertising policies, refer to the Billing & Subscriptions page.
- The same pricing and benefits apply regardless of the payment method used.
- Price changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance.
10. Restrictions & Suspension
Escalation Levels
If you violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, the Company may take the following escalating actions:
- Warning — Issued for a first minor violation.
- Feature Restriction — Messaging privileges restricted for 24 hours to 7 days.
- Temporary Suspension — Full Service access suspended for 7 to 30 days.
- Permanent Ban — Account deleted and re-registration prohibited.
Immediate Permanent Ban
The following offenses result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning:
- Sexual approach toward or exploitation of a minor
- Physical threats or violence
- Organized fraud or financial exploitation
- Illegal transactions
- Repeated large-scale violations
Appeals
- You may appeal any enforcement decision.
- Submit an appeal to [email protected] with the subject line "[Appeal]" within 7 days of the action.
- Appeals are reviewed and resolved within 5 to 10 business days.
11. Termination & Deletion
Your Right to Withdraw
- You may request to delete your account at any time.
- Account deletion is available in Settings > Account > Delete Account.
Deletion Procedure
- Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app.
- Optionally provide a reason for leaving.
- Confirm to complete the deletion request.
- Your account is immediately and permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Data Handling After Deletion
- Profile, AI conversations, match/chat history — Permanently deleted immediately.
- Payment/transaction records — Retained for up to 12 months for tax purposes, then deleted.
- Log data — Retained for 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.
Important Notes
- You may re-register after deletion, but previous data cannot be recovered.
- If you have active chats, your match partner will be notified of your departure.
- Unused token packs are not refunded upon deletion (subscriptions stop at the next renewal date).
- Please cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account. Deleting the app alone does not cancel your subscription.
Termination by the Company
- The Company cannot unilaterally terminate your account without cause.
- However, the Company may terminate your account with 30 days' notice in cases of serious Terms violations, legal requirements, or service discontinuation.
12. Liability
Service Interruptions
The Company is not liable for service unavailability caused by:
- Scheduled maintenance and system updates
- User device malfunctions or network issues
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, war, terrorism, etc.)
- Third-party platform issues (Apple, Google)
Data Loss
- Users are responsible for backing up important chat content and personal information.
- The Company is not liable for data loss caused by User negligence, malware, or unauthorized account access.
- In the event of server-side data loss, the Company will make best efforts to recover data but does not guarantee full recovery.
AI Errors
- The Company is not liable for inaccurate information or unexpected responses generated by the AI.
- The Company is not liable for incorrect matching or profile suggestions resulting from AI analysis errors.
- The Company does not compensate for inconvenience caused by changes in service behavior due to AI updates.
Disputes Between Users
The Company is not liable for:
- False information, deception, or fraud between Users
- Emotional distress or discomfort arising from chat interactions
- Physical violence, sexual violence, or bodily harm resulting from in-person meetings (however, the Company will take immediate action upon receiving a report)
- Financial transactions or lending between Users
- Damages arising from personal information disclosure
External Links
- The Company is not responsible for external links or third-party content within the Service.
- Any damages from using external sites should be resolved directly with those sites.
Damages Cap
- If the Company is found liable for a breach of these Terms, total damages are limited to the lesser of:
- The total fees you paid to the Company in the preceding 12 months, or
- The actual damages within a reasonable scope.
- The Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss, lost business profits, loss of expected revenue, or emotional distress from service unavailability.
- This limitation does not apply to damages caused by the Company's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
13. Jurisdiction
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
Jurisdiction
Any litigation arising from these Terms shall be filed with the Seoul Central District Court as the court of exclusive jurisdiction.
Dispute Resolution Process
If you have a dispute related to the Service, the following steps apply:
- Step 1 — Submit a detailed report to [email protected].
- Step 2 — The Company reviews and investigates (5 to 10 business days).
- Step 3 — The Company proposes a resolution and negotiates with you.
- Step 4 — If no agreement is reached, the matter may proceed to litigation.
Consumer Protection
- Consumer damage relief under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce is handled separately.
- You may file a complaint with the Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) or your local consumer center.
14. Miscellaneous
Partial Invalidity
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
Non-Assignment
- You may not assign or transfer your rights and obligations under these Terms to any third party.
- The Company may assign its rights and obligations with prior notice.
Non-Waiver
The Company's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms against a User who has violated them does not constitute a waiver of the Company's right to enforce that provision in the future.
Operating Policies
- The Company publishes the Community Guidelines, AI Policy, Billing & Subscriptions, and Privacy Policy as separate documents.
- These documents form part of these Terms.
Notice Methods
- Notices from the Company are delivered via in-app announcements, email, or push notifications.
- In urgent cases, the Company may use SMS or phone calls.
