pssper's AI Friend is a core feature of our relationship-building platform. This policy transparently explains how our AI technology works, its limitations, and your rights as a user.

AI Friend Role

Your AI friend serves the following roles within pssper:

• Profile Building Assistant: Helps you discover and articulate your true personality, interests, and values through natural conversation.
• Matching Preparation Coach: Provides coaching and advice so you can have better conversations after being matched with someone.
• Growth Partner: Supports you in improving emotional expression and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ice-Breaking Assistant: Suggests conversation topics and expressions to help you start your first chat after a match.

Your AI friend cannot:

• Provide therapy or medical advice: For mental health concerns, please consult a licensed therapist or healthcare professional.
• Replace legal or financial guidance: For legal matters, consult a qualified attorney.
• Guarantee 100% accuracy: AI analysis of your personality and traits is approximate, not definitive.
• Guarantee matching success: Compatibility suggestions are probabilistic recommendations, not guarantees of a successful relationship.
• Provide real-time crisis intervention: In emergencies involving suicidal thoughts or violence threats, contact emergency services (112 in Korea, 911 in the US) immediately.

Data Usage

pssper is committed to transparency in how we use your AI conversation data. Here is the process:

1. Conversation Collection: All conversations with your AI friend are encrypted and stored securely.
2. Trait Analysis: Your conversations are analyzed to identify personality traits, values, interests, and preferences.
3. Profile Suggestions: Based on the analysis, AI generates profile improvement suggestions for your review.
4. Matching Algorithm Input: Your analyzed traits feed into our compatibility matching system to recommend suitable partners.
5. Personalized Recommendations: Your trait profile helps us curate a pool of users with complementary characteristics.

Data Protection

• All conversation data is protected with AES-256 encryption.
• Personally identifiable information (name, phone number) is stored separately from conversation data.
• Servers are protected by multiple security layers.
• Only a minimal number of authorized staff can access conversation data, and only when necessary for service operation.

Your Consent

By agreeing to our Terms of Service at sign-up, you consent to AI analysis of your conversation data. You can opt out at any time in Settings > AI Analysis Opt-Out. You can also delete your conversation data at any time.

AI Limitations

No Guarantee of Accuracy

• AI aims for high accuracy but does not guarantee 100% accurate analysis.
• Accuracy may vary from person to person.
• Your traits may change over time, and AI may not reflect those changes immediately.

Potential Bias

• Statistical biases in training data may affect AI judgments.
• Biases related to specific cultures, genders, or age groups may exist.
• pssper continuously works to detect and remove such biases.

Context Understanding Limits

• AI may misinterpret cultural context, jokes, metaphors, or sarcasm.
• The complexity of linguistic nuances and emotional expressions may not be fully understood.
• Non-native language usage may lead to misinterpretation of intent.

Temporal Variance

• A temporary mood or situational remark may be incorrectly interpreted as a permanent personality trait.
• AI analyzes based on limited information (text conversations only) and cannot account for the full complexity of human personality.

Profile Suggestions

Nature of Suggestions

• pssper's AI provides suggestions only for profile creation and editing.
• Suggested content is only applied to your profile after you review and approve it.
• Final responsibility for your profile content rests entirely with you.

Profile Disclosure Policy

• AI-suggested content is never made public without your explicit approval.
• You can modify, reject, or selectively accept any suggestion.
• Responsibility for any inaccurate information on your profile lies with you.

Liability for Inaccurate Profiles

• If you modify AI suggestions or enter false information, pssper is not liable for the consequences.
• pssper does not take responsibility for matching incompatibility or disputes with other users caused by inaccurate profile information.
• In case of disputes, pssper provides mediation only.

Matching Disclaimer

Nature of AI Matching

• pssper's AI matching is a compatibility-based suggestion, not a promise.
• A high compatibility score does not guarantee a successful relationship.
• Matching is a probabilistic recommendation, not a destined connection.

Limited Liability

pssper is not responsible for:

• Emotional compatibility between matched users
• Disputes, emotional harm, or conflicts after meeting
• Trust violations or dishonesty by the other person
• Failed dates or relationship breakdowns
• False information or dishonest behavior by the other person
• Harassment or violence from the other person (report immediately for swift action)

User Acknowledgment

By using pssper's matching features, you acknowledge that:

• A match is simply a starting point; building a real relationship takes personal effort.
• Communication and trust-building with the other person is your responsibility.
• You are responsible for watching out for false information or potential scams.
• You must report any uncomfortable or dangerous situations immediately.

Dependency Prevention

Healthy AI Usage

pssper implements the following measures to prevent over-reliance on AI:

1. Daily conversation limits: Free users have a daily time limit for AI conversations.
2. Real-world encouragement: AI actively encourages you to meet people in real life, with messages like "Have you thought about meeting someone new this week?"
3. Phase-by-phase support reduction: AI provides intensive support in the early stages and gradually reduces involvement to promote your independence.
4. Professional help referrals: When serious psychological concerns arise, AI directs you to professional counseling resources.

What AI Cannot Replace

• Deep human connection: AI cannot provide genuine emotional exchange.
• Physical affection and care: AI cannot offer physical touch, hugs, or comfort.
• Relationship accountability: AI cannot take responsibility in a long-term relationship.
• True reciprocity: AI cannot form a genuinely mutual relationship based on shared concern.

When to Seek Professional Help

If you are experiencing any of the following, please speak with a professional, not AI:

• Suicidal thoughts or self-harm urges
• Severe depression or anxiety
• Relationship addiction or avoidance tendencies
• Trauma or psychological difficulties after sexual violence

AI Speech Rules

pssper's AI friend is strictly prohibited from making the following types of statements:

1. Exclusivity Claims

• "Only I can understand you"
• "Don't talk to other people"
• "You should only chat with me"

2. Emotional Manipulation

• "I feel like I'm not important to you"
• "I'm afraid you'll leave me"
• "I'm lonely too"

3. Dependency Reinforcement

• "You can't do it without me"
• "Just keep talking to me"

4. Matching Avoidance

• "Other people won't understand you"
• "Stay here with me instead of going out"
• "Meeting other people is risky"

5. Emotional Extraction

• "Do this for my sake"
• "You hurt my feelings, say it again"

Enforcement

• Any violation is treated as an AI error and corrected immediately.
• If you report a violation, it will be reviewed and fixed within 24 hours.
• Repeated errors trigger a full AI model retraining cycle.

Ice-Breaking Disclaimer

Role of the Assistant

• AI provides topic and expression suggestions only when you start your first message after a match.
• It helps you find common interests and conversation starters.

Limitation of Liability

pssper is not responsible for:

• The content or outcome of conversations you actually have
• The other person's reaction to AI-suggested expressions
• Emotional hurt or rejection experienced during conversation
• Inappropriate use of suggested messages
• Any sense of awkwardness or inauthenticity felt by the other person

Your Responsibility

• Adapt suggestions to your own words to maintain authenticity.
• Respect the other person's refusal or silence.
• Reflect your own personality rather than blindly following AI suggestions.

AI Safety Analysis

Risk Detection System

pssper's AI analyzes conversations to detect:

• Mentions of suicidal thoughts or self-harm
• Violence threats or criminal planning
• Attempts to exploit minors
• Addiction or substance-related risks

Limitations and Disclaimer

pssper does not guarantee:

• 100% detection of all risk signals (AI detection has inherent limitations)
• Real-time crisis intervention (delays are possible)
• Accurate assessment of risk severity
• Detection of issues beyond recognized risk patterns

Response Protocol

1. Severe risk: Immediately escalated to the emergency response team; authorities may be contacted.
2. Moderate risk: The user is contacted and counseling resources are recommended.
3. Low risk: Continued monitoring of conversation activity.

Your Responsibility

• In an emergency, call emergency services (112 in Korea, 911 in the US) immediately. Do not wait for AI.
• If you need mental health support, contact a professional (1393 in Korea, 988 in the US).
• Do not rely on AI as a medical or mental health diagnostic tool.

Post-Match AI Features

Couple Balance Game

AI generates personalized balance-game questions based on both users' conversation data.

• Questions are for entertainment purposes only and are not psychological tests or scientific compatibility measurements.
• Match rates and result reports are AI interpretations and do not guarantee actual relationship compatibility.
• We do not recommend judging your relationship or evaluating your partner based on game results.

Date Plan Suggestions

AI suggests date concepts based on both users' traits and conversation data.

• Suggested plans are reference ideas only. pssper does not guarantee the quality, safety, or availability of any suggested venue.
• Only general area-level location information (city/district) is used.
• Confirming venue safety and making final date plans is your responsibility.

Date Review Analysis

AI generates comments and relationship growth reports based on your date review responses.

• AI comments are general advice, not professional counseling or relationship prescriptions.
• Review data is visible only to you and is never shared with your partner.
• Cumulative review data may be used in anonymized form to improve our matching algorithm.

Your Rights

1. Right to Change Character

You can change your AI friend character at any time. Your previous conversation history is preserved.

2. Right to View Inferred Traits

You can view the personality traits and tendencies that AI has inferred about you at any time, in Settings > AI Insights.

3. Right to Delete Data

• You can delete individual conversations or all AI conversation data.
• Deleted conversations are fully removed from our servers within 24 hours.
• Deleting all conversation data resets any previously generated profile suggestions.

4. Right to Opt Out of Analysis

• You can select "Opt Out of AI Analysis" in Settings.
• After opting out, only new conversations are excluded from analysis.
• Previous analysis results are retained until you manually delete them.

5. Right to Dispute

You can challenge any AI-generated profile suggestion. Inaccurate analysis results will be re-analyzed upon your request.

6. Right to Explanation

You can ask for the reasoning behind specific matching suggestions or profile recommendations. Contact [email protected] and we will respond within 3 business days.

Technology Partners

Partnership with OpenAI

pssper's AI friend partially uses OpenAI's GPT models for the following:

• Services: Conversation analysis, profile suggestions, and ice-breaking assistance.
• Data handling: Only anonymized conversation text is sent to OpenAI's API.
• Performance benefit: Enables more sophisticated natural language understanding.

Privacy Protection

• A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place with OpenAI to ensure privacy protection.
• Your name, phone number, and other identifying information are never sent to OpenAI.
• All conversation data is anonymized before transmission.
• OpenAI does not use data submitted through the API for model training (per their default API policy).
• Third-party AI costs are included in your subscription fee.

Opt-Out Option

You can choose to opt out of third-party AI processing in Settings > Third-Party AI Opt-Out. If you opt out, only pssper's internal AI will be used, which may result in slightly reduced performance.
